Day 5: Protect the Source: The Love Your Mother Earth Challenge to Ease Eco-anxiety

It’s Day 5 of the @onegreenthing Love Your Mother Earth Challenge. Today we’re focusing on the principle “Protect the Source.” Water is essential to our well-being on this planet and it’s something that many of us take for granted.

Check out the ideas for a #onegreenthing based on Service Superpower.

Today, I’m channeling my inner Philanthropist and signing up for a river clean up in my neighborhood. It's August 19th on the Madison River.

Another easy #onegreenthing is to google “name of your town and watershed” map. A watershed is an area or ridge of land that separates waters flowing to different rivers, basins, or seas. Get to know your watershed, where your water comes from, and where wastewater flows.

Water quality and quantity will continue to be significant issues as the global warming continues unabated. From droughts in Kenya to the American West to flooding in China and the American Southeast, it’s time to internalize the impacts of water on our personal health and future well-being.

Share your #onegreenthing on social and follow us for the rest of the week.

Your daily practice of sustainability can ease eco-anxiety, bring more joy into your life, and help shift the culture toward climate solutions. We all have a unique role to play in a climate action.
